Anonymous Boy - 17 (2007 Interview)
I am 17 years old. I first got put on psych meds when I was only 8 years old because I had anger problems and problems sleeping. The first thing they said was that I was supposed to be Bipolar. They gave me Paxil, Zoloft, Clonodine, and at least one other drug whose name I can't remember. The pills did the opposite of what they were supposed to do. They made me angrier, and I couldnt sleep at all. The pills made me angrier and angrier, so my parents sent me to a facility where they upped the dosage to the point where I was like a zombie, with no feelings whatsoever.
Four years later I was put in another psych ward facility for 6 months. When they finally released me they found that I was better off of the pills than on them, so they basically just fucked me for 4 years. I think that these drugs permanently effected my sexual development. It is really hard for me to get physically attracted to anyone. Last year I found out that Paxil was not government approved for kids and that I could sue them. What they did to me was not legal.
